Low volume tools, test tools, prototypes and
0-series production.
A low volume tool is a tool that has been developed to manufacture slightly larger series than a test tool. In most cases, low-volume tools are manu-
factured when the customer needs to release a product quickly: a campaign,
for example, or when new models or variations are being launched.
A test tool is, more often than not, manufactured where the customer needs between 50-1,000 parts moulded in 2-3 different types of materials or colours.
The parts are used for test purposes or final testing before the final tool is put into production. In most cases, the above types of tools are used for subse-
quent 0-series production of parts for trade fairs, test processes or for produc-
tion samples.
We always make recommendations to and advise customers on the choice of correct tool solutions. See the pictures of low volume tools and bits for a test tool.
